Ох, как безнадежно мы отстали от молодежной культуры!
Даша вчера была во всем черном, с подведенными глазами. Сегодня спрашиваю, не собралась ли она случайно в готы. Оказалось, готы уже вышли из моды (Андрей: "Mum, no one IS a goth anymore!"), а теперь у них есть emos: они, по андрюхиным словам, носят длинные волосы на один глаз, страдают и пишут плохие стихи.

О, я таких вчера на автобусной станции видела. Мальчик так трогательно приклеивал эту челочку к глазу каждые 10 секунд... :-)

In Peru, there were two rival groups of the upper class: the local one and those with Spanish origin. Women of the local group wore veils over their heads, with one eye ALWAYS COVERED, for this reason they were called "tapadas". They also wore (at times much) shorter skirts to show they tinier feet than those of Spanish women, who rather tried to attract a look with their tinier waists. The tapadas were scandalous, partly because such a veil arrangement changes appearance, voice, and figure. Some were known to catch up their own husbands while at afternoon walk (paseo).
